On September 9, 2010 Sculptor Lea Vivot, actor Keifer Sutherland, federal, provincial and local politicians unveiled a statue of former Premier Tommy Douglas in his hometown of Weyburn. Windy conditions didn't keep the public from attending the unveiling that took place at the Riverfront Boardwalk.

"The sculpture of Tommy Douglas was inspired  by his great humanity and his devotion to bring universal Medicare to Canada" said creator Lea Vivot.
